Step 1: Install the app - Go to the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android) - Search for Microsoft Authenticator - Download and install the app Step 2: Go to your security settings - Open a browser and go to: https://aka.ms/mfasetup - Sign in with your Microsoft 365 work or school account - Click on Next Step 3: Link your account to the app - Choose 'Mobile app' as verification method - Select 'Receive notifications for verification - Click on Set up Step 4: scanning the QR code - Open the Microsoft Authenticator app - Tap '+ Add account - Choose 'Work or school account - Choose 'Scan QR code - Scan the QR code Step 5: Verification testing - Click Next on your computer - Approve the notification on your phone Step 6: Additional security option - Add a phone number - Choose SMS or phone call Step 7: Finalising - Click on Done - MFA is now active

Step 4: scanning the QR code
- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app
- Tap ‘+ Add account’
- Choose ‘Work or school account’
- Choose ‘Scan QR code’
- Scan the QR code

Step 5: Verification testing
- Click Next on your computer
- Approve the notification on your phone

Step 6: Additional security option
- Add a phone number
- Choose SMS or phone call

Step 7: Finalising
- Click on Done
- MFA is now active
