21 April 2015, all mobile-friendly websites will be ranked higher by Google.
These are websites made for mobile phones and other mobile devices.

So it means that your website, if not responsive or adaptive are, will be ranked lower when searched from a mobile device. Search results on desktop and (for now) tablets will not be affected by this update from Google.

Example

For example, was your website first in position 1 for the keyword "shoes Alphen aan den Rijn", but is it not suitable for mobile devices? Then chances are your website will retain this number 1 position for searches done from a desktop, laptop or tablet.
However, when searching for "shoes Alphen aan den Rijn" on a mobile device, your competitor with a mobile-friendly website is now likely to be at the top.

Test your website
