Today, the Google Pixel Event was held with many new announcements regarding software as well as hardware.

Some of the unveilings include the Chromecast Ultra (which can stream Youtube and Netflix in 4k), two Google smartphones (Google Pixel and the Pixel XL), Google Home (an alternative to Sonos, among others), Android 7.1 Nougat and Google Daydream, a pair of Google VR glasses. So a very nice day for true Google fans!
Clearly, in one day, Google is taking an extra solid position in various areas like VR, streaming and smartphones.

Featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 12.3 megapixel camera, the Pixel smartphones will emerge as direct competitors to Samsung and iPhone.
The same goes for the prices from just under €759 for a 32GB Pixel to over €1009 for a Pixel XL with 128GB. The devices are equipped with Android 7.1 Nougat, have Full HD for the Pixel and a 2560×1440 pixel display for the XL, respectively. The battery has a capacity of 2770mAh and 3450mAh, but charges enough in 15 minutes of charging to give it 7(!) hours of use!
In Germany, among other countries, the smartphones can already be pre-ordered. These will be delivered on 13 October.
The date for the Netherlands are unfortunately not yet known.
