For almost 10 years, on Envato's Themeforest a.o. WordPress-templates offered. Many web designs can be found, but the most commonly used template is Avada from Theme Fusion.

With over 160,000 sales, it is a topper that does not know its neighbor.

Not for nothing have we used this template for our own website and those of several clients!

The template

The template currently offers 14 demos. This means you can install this template and have 14 basic looks to choose from. These are loaded into the websites in the form of demo content. This will save you a lot of time. Please note that many photos used in templates are not included in the standard licence. These will have to be swapped with your own photos.

The reason this template has sold so much is its user-friendliness and quality. Bugs(minor bugs) are rare and there is a very comprehensive control panel in the admin area to provide the whole website with the right colours, alignments and options.

Especially with little experience et template installations, the options in the control panel can be too much. It can also be difficult to link certain functions to the website's output. What happens to the website on the front end when I uncheck a checkbox or change a value.
Although a basic website is online quickly, customisation is still quite a bit of work. Fortunately, though, these were all the "drawbacks".

Both the frontend of the website and the control panel can easily be translated into Dutch by means of a Dutch PO file that is included as standard. There is also extensive documentation available on Theme Fusion's website including helpful videos. This is in English, though.

Features

The beauty of Avada is its many well-established features. Here are some of them:

• Fusion Builder: This drag-and-drop page builder makes it easy to create a page without much knowledge of code. Various functions such as contact forms, sliders, photos, texts, etc. can be added, deleted or modified at the touch of a button. Very handy if you plan to maintain the website yourself.
• Demo Content Importer: Easily create a basic website online with demo texts and photos.
• Control panel: The control panel in the admin area of the website is very comprehensive. There is probably no other template that makes it possible to customise so many things without having to dive into the code.
• Responsive design: Like basically all contemporary template, Avada can be viewed well on any screen.
• Integration with well-known plugins: Avada is fully and guaranteed to work with WooCommerce, bbPres, Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms and Revolution Slider.
• Fusion Options: Handy option at the bottom of each page to customise or turn on/off sidebars, sliders, backgrounds, among others.
• Retina Ready: Avada is complete Retina Ready.
• MegaMenu: By default, Avada has MegaMenu built in.
• Revolution Slider: Revslider is the best slider-plugin available on the market. This plugin is included in the price by default and represents a value of $19. In addition, Avada has another 3 slider plugins included in the price.
• Language: Avada is not only suitable for translation, 33 languages in the form of PO files are included as standard.
• Portolio: By default, Avada has an option to post portfolio items, including a summary page.
• Blog: By default, 6 different blog layouts are available and can be customised from the control panel.
• SEO-friendly: The Avada template promotes good findability through the proper use of CSS and HTML.
• Sidebars: An infinite number of sidebars are possible.
• Custom CSS: There is a default option to override the template's CSS.
• Page templates: Pages can be saved as templates, so they can be used as the basis of other pages.

Advantages

Advantages, as can be seen in the story above, are many present. These can be briefly summarised in the become user-friendly and quality.

Cons

We haven't come across any real drawbacks yet. But if we had to name a few:

• Fusion Builder's compatibility with other templates. Should you ever plan to switch to another template and want to export the pages as well? Then keep in mind that the Fusion Builder writes separate code that will show a completely different layout with other templates.
• Comprehensive: While lots of customisation options is actually not a disadvantage, combined with the amount of plugins, it can make small customisations take quite a bit of searching. Also, fully customising the website will take quite some time.

Conclusion

As mentioned, we think Avada is a top-notch template with a very high "value for money" rate. Not only is it hard not to build a beautiful website with this template, the setup is also extremely pleasant due to the many well-working features and plugins.
Combined with the great features of WordPress, this template will give you a website where making your own changes is easy and ready for the future!
